E, since you feel we are continuously treading on new ground, I will not address this issue again. I also apologize if you never referred to yourself as a moderate. I actually thought you would receive it as a compliment, or at least benignly. Instead, it appears you have chosen to use it as a muddying tool. My fault for not being more careful. I disagree with your logic and assumptions. Perhaps it makes very little sense to me because I don't view everyone in politics so cynically. Maybe it's because I've gotten to know a few politicians, and the ones I know (who are conservative) actually have core beliefs they stand for. Many of which contradict precisely the argument you're making. You can go on believing it's a ruse if you like, and that they're talking out of both sides of their mouth in addition to wordsmithing a few over-generalizations. But this fish ain't biting. Unlike liberal Democrats such as Al Gore, conservatives aren't as inclined to stick their finger in the air, or take a poll to determine what position they ought to take today. As I've said from the beginning. If it's government intrusion into our private life that has you concerned. Looking into the den of conservatives, isn't the first place I would go hunting. Democrats have passed legislation after legislation circumventing the constitution and prying into every nook and cranny of American life. Today, they want our guns, our SUV's, our cigarettes, our children's mind, our money, our property, our health care, and our free speech. Equating the two political philosophies as equally intrusive is absurd. Michael
