LG, MSFT has so many tricks in their hat that I think they can report what ever they want.

Still I think their toning down has on purpose to put many on notice who the real Gorrila is.

Aside from that they are also right PC sales are slowing their growht rate. Fleck was writing abaut that for several months and the real world prices of DRAM's are trending lower.

Many insurance companies and pension funds will suffer MSFT is no JNPR or QCOM.

What's the big deal with Microsoft? Balmer said last year that they were going down. He was right. The stock is down 32% YTD.

Microsoft's success was its' ability to wipe out competition. Now that it is restrained it's only the analysts' hot air that is keeping this balloon up.

It is unfortunate that scared herd mentality sees this a problem for other tech companies. Actually it has been good for the competition and should hardly affect the market.

JMHO

//MSFT conference call...talk the stock down...cause a major market slide...blame the falling revenues on government meddling...public uproar...government backs off!//

When someone that I know suggested this to me in the first week of April, I didn't think it could be possible.Now I am a believer.

Comments from AJC, of GS start the market slide with a little help from Mobius in the process. Just when market seems to be stabilizing, Rich sherlund, again of GS(surprise,surprise!!) lowers numbers for Microsoft,market starts to drop again and sets a lower low. Now when things seem to be stabilizing, Microsoft comes out with it's grim conference call.
Now, this whole thing smells of GS.

Another bonus for MSFT would be that the stock price of it's competitors will drop during these selloffs and these companies will be at a disadvantage.
The linux stocks are nowhere near their previous highs and have taken a severe beating during the last few days and have not had a bounce like some of the other techstocks.
