Sub Growth!

I have a Lotus spread sheet that shows revenues and subs growing somewhat exponentially... and, I have a stock chart that shows ATHM's share price decreasing somewhat exponentially. It would appear from that negative correlation that investors and money managers are subtracting some variable x from sub growth and increasing the multiple of that negative variable in an exponential manner in order to arrive at the share price. The question is, what is x ? and why does x become greater and greater with time ?
