Those are the type of situations where a market order may be better- If the market is running against you in a hurry, the market can screw you worse than the broker.

Have heard alot of horror stories out of Waterhouse. There are several threads on SI about various brokers. I would suggest perusing those before you decide who to go with. Take the comments with a grain of salt- the people with problems are the most prolific posters.

From what I have seen and heard- you should avoid Waterhouse, E-trade, and Suretrade. I use Schwab and Datek, and have had few complaints. They all have their problems though.
