Hi All,

Great thread. After having some investments in PM companies for the better part of the last 15 yrs I feel perhaps the time is right for a well overdue bull. That being said I'm wondering how Greenspam will react interest rate wise if indeed we touch the 2800-3000 point on NAZ and 9700 point on the Dow..
Higher rates seem to be factored into the market but if the world as we know it begins to erode at the seams, perhaps he holds back a bit. Two reasons why IMVHO:
1. election year
2. FWIW.. I live in Conn. Busines is slowing. Had a conversation with a respected Construction Co. president yesterday. While the real big jobs (casinos..don't think they really count) are still on the books, many smaller jobs (1-10 million are being pulled or aren't showing up.

Would appreciate some thoughts on this.....gonna be a looooong weekend....(not of the stock variety I'm afraid). Gonna try and get 9 holes in now...thanks for a great thread..Happy Easter.

Terry:

"From what I have seen and heard- you should avoid Waterhouse, E-trade, and Suretrade. I use Schwab and Datek, and have had few complaints. They all have their problems though."

FWIW - I've had accounts at several brokers, E*Crap, Witless, and Schlob. I'm and currently with Waterhouse and have been since 7/99. I have five accounts with them and can get "active" at times with transactions. My experience with them has been in equities (long and short), options, and bonds. I couldn't be happier. Have their been a couple problems? Of course, but they have always been rectified professionally, speedily, and satisfactorly. Like PCs, they are always gonna break. What matters is the service when they do.
