Techplayer, Yesterday Microsoft told analysts that earnings in the next quarter could be slightly less than the last and thatconsensus earnings estimates for fiscal year 2001, starting July 1, need to be trimmed.

That is the kind of candor which investors had a right to expect from McGinn. Instead, he allowed the analysts to keep upgrading the stock.
