Did you not get the memo? When an index drops x% from a high, it is 'officially' in a bear market LOL

The one thing I did hear on CNBC a few days back is that many stocks are trading like commodities. This rare simple but obvious point makes sense, treating stocks like commodities, these wild price swings mean nothing, just temporary fluctuations of supply and demand.
