Hello Boris,

Re: However, one big, big question remains: can AMD enter the corporate market? Frankly, until now we have absolutely no strong indication to believe this. (Of course we all are going to be really happy if this happens). For now, we can only hope that a clear MHz leadership will be sufficient.

I see two factors that must be met in order for AMD to gain entry to the corporate market:

1. Competent SMP chipsets and motherboards.
2. Overcoming the existing mind set.

#1 above is being addressed now for release later this year. It's true, we can't judge the degree of its success yet. However given the known importance of the corporate market to AMD, I expect no financial/engineering resources will be spared in achieving this factor. Failure is not an option!

#2 above: Ask the corporate market the following question: "Do you really care whose processor executes your sequence of x86 instructions so long as that execution is done reliably faster? My experience to date (limited) indicates there is substantial performance increase using Athlon based clients/servers, and this increase in performance is available at an unbelievably low price. I've yet to know of any corporation where performance and dollars don't matter.

Kindest regards,
CrazyMan
