A superior product creates branding, ex post facto. Therefore, branding is irrelevant to success.

So many superior products have failed! Superiority alone doesn't make a market, nor does it secure any measure of success. Neither does branding alone provide security, but it sure helps. Just look at INTC, AOL, IBM, etc, etc, etc.
