over 90% of election years are up for stocks
every single election year has been up when the incumbent is finishing his second and final term... interesting

This is an interesting statement that has caused me much confusion. Twice on this thread I have read a Yahoo news link that stated exactly the opposite, 90% of election years were down years, and a sitting Vice President has only ONCE ever been elected to office since the 1800's... and that was George Bush.

Could you provide any kind of link or substantiation for your observation? I've also read here that the investors almanac has stated that election years were up years for the market.

Any clarification would be greatly appreciated. I feel this is not an unimportant issue in regards to market direction.

Regards,

JM

Jim Willie CB: I remember my forays onto the QCOM thread a few times. You were a perma bull and as long at QCOM remained in its manic stage you were a guru to those folks. However, as they all do eventually, the manic stage ended. You missed the call as I expected you too.

Each time I came on and gave a technical short signal (they were all dead on by the way) you chimed in to berate me and call me a fraud. What were you saying as QCOM topped out at post split 200? What were you saying after the strong decline? How many times have you told folks QCOM should have ralied back by now?

Yes, I've read many of your posts since I stop posting on the QCOM thread. I was wondering how long it would take for folks to catch on. My opinion of you has not changed. Your TA is still clueless and if you posts your usual porch variety of foul mouthed verbiage on MDD, it will likely get you suspended.
