a few things to try
ctrl-alt-delete (once) - is task 'findfast' running - if so, terminate it and remove it from startup

then mycomputer - control panel - add/remove programs - deinstall (remove) myTrack

then delete c:/program files/mytrack/ - just the mytrack subfolder, not the entire /proram files/ folder.

locate file *.myt , where * is your user id - start/find/files or folders - delete it - might already be gone - deleted with folder in prior step - but search pc make sure its gone

Then download version 4.1.12 - full, new user version (not upgrade)

close everything running on your pc - locate file you downloaded, and reinstall mytrack

reboot your computer

start up mytrack - tell it 'existing' user - not 'new user' - key in existing user id and password. once it comes up shut it down with 'x' upper right - then restart it.

also - you said you were on win 98 - are you on win 98 2nd edition yet, and do you have the latest microsoft updates installed?

a few other things to check - when your pc is runing with its normal application load - launch the windows resource meter - what are the values for system, user and gdi resource usage. start/programs/accessories/sysetm tools/resource meter - if not there, install it from windows installation cd

also - how big is your disk drive, and what percentage of it is free (unused space); and have you run a scandisk or defrag recently?

call us at 1-800-mytrack , option 1 if that doesnt solve it.
