a few folks are still reporting lockups at open if thats happening - a few things we need to help isolate it, these need to be performed while experiencing the system problem, not evenings or weekends: a) use the /link command when you're having problems - record the output for us b) bring up the windows resource meter - record the system, user, and gdi resource usage percentages c) go to this url - test your net connection, tell us the results: computingcentral.com d) open a dos window - issue the tracert command - c:> tracert mytrack.tdc.com - record number of hops and whether or not there were any timeouts e) open a dos window - issue the ping command - c:> ping mytrack.tdc.com - note average response time (last nbr reported) and any timeouts or lost packet messages. for help with any of this, or to report results so we can get it solved, see the host in channel 1. pewd
