I would be interested if "Due Process" was followed in this case. From the information released so far, I see no involvement by the courts in this action. So far, it appears to be a Justice action only.

Thank God it was finally done, and done peacefully. It was wrong and criminal to keep Elian away from his father.

IMO the protesting, vandalizing Cubans should be given immediate passage to you know where.

Already Trent Lott and Tom Delay are trying to use this to their advantage e.g. comparing Janet Reno to Castro. Right wing extremists make me ashamed to be a Republican. I recently got a recorded call from Tom Delay asking for money, because if the Democrats got control of the house, they would take away all of our guns.

We need intelligent, reasonable political leadership, not this crap we see now heading my Republican party.

Hopefully our Cuban policy will finally be taken out of the hands of Jesse Helms and the extremist Cubans. Every other communist country has become more free and economically prosperous after being exposed to western democratic trade and influence. Common sense rather than political demogoguery should dictate our Cuban policy.

Take care all. Winkman
