Cuba is a dictatorship. Most of the money acquired by a normalization of relations will go to their military.

Castro has to go before that happens.

Off topic: gun control fears

"...because if the Democrats got control of the house..."

I may not be in agreement with the tactic of using this single issue to garner support for Republican house seats, but you can rest assured that the ultimate goal of gun control advocates is not so much to control guns, but to get them out of the hands of civilians.

You might be able to keep your shotgun if you are lucky, after they get their way.

Castro wasn't a communist when he fought his revolution. He held out hopes for working out a deal with the US after he won. The US drug their feet and Castro's brother set up a deal with Moscow instead. Moscow sent him the money and official communist "How to" book and a dictator was born.
