nihil, If you had ever watched a horse being tamed by letting him buck himself out the old way, you would know that it is not terror you see in their eyes. It is amazement that they are not able to pulverize this, seemingly, weak foe. Those that I have seen, have suffered no injury, or pain, at all. They simply get worn out. Horses were made to ride and pack. At least, we don't eat them like some societies do. If you feel that they are being abused, I suggest you get in a corral with a wild one. There are still quite a few of them running the ranges of Nevada, so such an experience could be arranged.I know some Paiutes that have a bunch of them running around. You will find that they need no help from a bleeding heart. BTW, you do eat beef, don't you? Have you ever seen the slaughtering techniques of the meat industry?

Another BTW, as I recall your post about the hike in the Marine Corps, you instilled the fear of punishment into your troops so they wouldn't make you look bad. Does a horse warrant any better treatment than a human being? Maybe, you are kinder to horses because they do not cause you fear of failure. ~H~
