If the explanation for no fast PIII's in retail is that they are all going to corporate, we should see fast systems for sale on corporate sales sites.

The fastest PIII systems for sale by Compaq and Gateway are 850MHz. In contrast, both of these companies have 900/950 and 1000MHz Athlons.

HP has 1000MHz PIII's and Athlons. Dell has only Intel (as part of their corporate suicide program.)

It certainly appears that fast Athlons are far more abundant than PIII.

Amy, Is it also possible that the high end chips are moving into the server channel in multiple array quantities?
