<< In theory I think what you say is true but in fact, it doesn't seem to work that way. I find that many of the Intel posts suffer from a serious bias of which the poster is not even aware. >>

I agree, however I'd say the same is true of you or I when we post. Look at how everyone here spun the xbox thing. You could see half the people here saying in essence "OH, well we didn't want the deal anyway because it was low margin"..

<< And then you get comments from someone like Ten who says that there is no way that AMD is shipping more hi-speed parts than Intel even though the news media, the oem's and Morgan Stanley say otherwise....and makes that statement without any proof. Where is the balance? Where is the objectivity? This type of objectivity I can live without. >>

You should be easily able to take the hype and lies and look at real information and decide it's bs. It's better to look at what someone says to shoot down your stock and be able to point out why they are wrong than it is to never look in the first place, because sooner or later they won't be wrong.

As I said, it isn't so much objectivity I seek, but a chance to at least hear the other side's story so I can decide whether I believe it.

If we only had AMD longs I don't think we'd run into half the discussions on this board that we do. Many of which are very important.

<< Frankly I think what people on this thread would miss the most if there were no Intel longs is the daily sparring....it breaks up the monotony of a lot of new highs....don't you think? :~)) >>

Hehe, definitely. That's probably the reason I read the thread the most anyway. I don't need to read something where we have 30 guys telling each other how awesome we all are because we all picked the right stock ;)

Ted, <And then you get comments from someone like Ten who says that there is no way that AMD is shipping more hi-speed parts than Intel even though the news media, the oem's and Morgan Stanley say otherwise....and makes that statement without any proof.>

My fault. Maybe next time, I'll refrain from making statements based on confidential information that I cannot reveal. Perhaps that's one reason why PB decided not to post to SI anymore.

ted,

re:intel posters

My comments would be I think it would be interesting to hear some contrary comments from the other AMD investors.

I'm sure Charles, Scumbria, Kash, Kap, and the others, would express some real concerns that all AMD investors would appreciate, based upon past history and their prospective industry positions.

But with the Intel paid AMD experts barking all the time, why bother?
