A moment of silence and evoking the word "God" is not a religious service. But you know that.

In the final analysis, this is what the issue boils down to.

Conservatives would allow the local school board, the local parents and the local children to decide how to handle these sensitive cultural issues. Liberals and Democrats would have the national government "force" compliance on the rest of us through law.
