We have a woodpecker in our willow tree. Dan wants to cut the tree down-- it's very old- and he says it's dying- but I love it so much I won't agree, even if it is right in the middle of the driveway and poses a threat to any cars underneath. It can't be dead; it still has some leaves.
Branches fall off. Big ones. They just seem to decide to fall. No reason. Maybe the woodpecker has helped them along? The cats climb it and there are bird nests all over it. It's sort of a senile granddaddy tree.
