Microsoft shares bounce in pre-market

NEW YORK (CBS.MW) -- Shares of Microsoft staged a bit of a recovery in pre-market trading Tuesday following Monday's 16 percent debacle.

The stock (MSFT: news, msgs) bounced 1 5/8 to 68 1/4 in Europe, according to market makers at Madoff Investment Securities. On Monday, the shares lost 12 5/16 and about $64 billion in market capitalization following weak revenue outlook and talk of a government proposal to break up the company. The stock closed Monday at its lowest level since December 1998
