Remember Stac Software? Remember what microsoft did to them? They sued MSFT and won.

Yes, I remember this. Does this have a bearing on the current case?

Everybody in the software industry knows that MSFT is guilty. Even MSFT knows it.

Olu - everyone knows you are exaggerating. Even you know it. I disagree with you on this - not everyone believes Microsoft is guilty. But again, whether or not they are guilty is a different issue from whether or not they should be broken up.

The best remedy is to bust up the company.

Judges in our courts assign legal remedies and punishment based on law and precedent. Therefore if you are making a definitive statement on what the best remedy is, I can only assume that you have knowledge of law and precedent regarding anti-trust violations. Do you? Or are you just stating an opinion? Aren't you just jumping to an easy conclusion - one that is not based on any knowledge or analysis in this area?

Also, the OS company should be barred from developing anything that is NOT OS related.

You make this sound so easy. And who would make the determination of what is and what is not OS related? The government? Would you be in favor of a government regulated company that produces Windows? Don't you believe that government regulation will result in poorer quality products, slower time to innovate, and higher prices? Most everything that I've seen the government have a hand in has had this result. Would this be good for customers? Do you think it is really easy to determine what is related to an OS and what is not?

Do you know why MSFT is unable to unseat Palm? Because Palm is NOT PC based and is independent of Windows!!

And what does this have to do with the issue? And is Palm really doing that well anyway?

Thanks,
-Eric
