Wizard of Oz.....

>>So, once again, as it stands - MSFT DID IT. It is up to MSFT to prove otherwise now!

Toy>>

Toy:

Microsoft is the castle and Bill has become the Wizard of Oz.

All the smoke, fire, monkeys and witches haven't made for a pretty site, but with the stock price finally deflating - as so many predicted last year - a REAL hard dose of reality is being roundly and deservedly earned and shared.

I must admit, however, that Microsoft has always done so much better when it comes to "listening" to the customer. It's really a shame they had to get cornered with such unnecessary behavior.

Peace.

GO!!

Sure Toy. Anything you say.

The appeal is insignificant once a Federal trial judge has RULED! We might as well try and change the laws of physics!

You might as well just hand down the verdict yourself from Canada - the anonymous knight arrant of jurisprudence on this thread that you are.

Me? I'll trust a deliberative body like the Ct of Appeals (rather than an arguably political shill like Jackson or Reno for that matter) to tell me what the "LAW" is.

Toy,

<< The law is not on trial >>

You are wrong. The judge is twisting the law to suit his needs. During the appeals process it will be this very interpretation of the law that will be on trial. MSFT makes very clear that they believe the judge has errored in his ruling, his use of the law and his interpretation of precedence.

Did you know that until the appeal process is complete, MSFT has not been shown to be a monopoly?

Did you know that it is NOT illegal to be a monopoly.

Did you know that it is NOT illegal to promote your product and to protect it from competition?

Did you know that it is NOT illegal to integrate one product into another and did you know that the court has come to this conclusion?

Did you know that it is NOT illegal to take measures to assure that your competitor does not take a majority of the market (ie. Netscape)?

Did you also know that it is NOT illegal to discuss business practices that may potentially limit competition?

Did you know that MSFT recently won an appeal where the appeals court actually removed the trial judge from the case because he had not remained impartial during the trial?

Did you know that the judge made a ruling that was counter to a prior appeals court ruling? In other words, he ignored the appeals court's standing ruling. Have you considered that the same appeals court might take issue with that?

These are all facts. Facts are on MSFT's side and each of these facts will be reviewed during the appeals process by an appeals court that has consistently ruled in MSFT's favor.

Dave

I hear a company can set up shop in Lichenstein and no one will "f*ck with" them much. MSFT should consider leaving the US to a place like Lichenstein or Costa Rica.

MSFT should really start playing hardball.

If I were Gates I'd also be trying to gain nuclear/biological/chemical capability as well.

FWIW
