That's an interesting rumor! I can see it now: just as the cheering "Jerrrry, Jerrrry, Jerrrry" begins to subside, Hector advances to the podium and makes a motion, Fran seconds, they have the votes, Jerry bangs the gavel, and "Hail to the Chief" starts up.

Maybe we should all go to the meeting. We could all grow goatees in honor of Sanders...wait a minute, didn't Colonel Sanders have a goatee? I'm sensing some strange karma here.

AMD showed 172 million on their 1st Q earnings report, so they can't even split 3-2.

According to Zack's Research, AMD has 250 million shares authorized of which 152 million are outstanding. The 172 million shares that you refer to includes diluted shares which I believe means optionable shares. AMD does have enough shares to split 3-2.
