According to this articles, Iridium had 912 subscribers in China. chinaonline.com An appallingly low number, but Iridium service started late in China (May 99) with handsets priced 3X higher than G's and airtime 2X higher: chinaonline.com A recent story about the transfer of Irid subs to G is at the following URL. Zhongyu Satellite Mobile Communications Co. is said to be the service provider for both Iridium and G* service. It's not clear how "Zhongyu" relates to the "China Telecom" that bought into GLP.
