Kelster, thanks for clarifying the Island Reversal thing. I suspected they were only "strong" when at extremes.

I said it before and I'll say it again. This day did not kill the downtrend. Yes, it was an impressive day and I am not arguing for bear. It's just that I am somewhat shocked at quickly people's "overall" view of things changes when the bulls score a couple of touchdowns. They might now be in the red-zone, but they are still a little behind.

Regarding the volatility: This is a period of extreme volatility by any post-war historical standards, especially when you consider big ups, downs, and gaps as a percentage of days in the last 4 months. I posted some time ago on this and I doubt you will find any post-war period that compares.

I mentioned earlier today that I was going to go back and study turnarounds after big falls. I understand that this one could be different, but so far this rally from the low does not look like other turnarounds that stuck.

Cheers. --Allan

Thanks for the great post. The imagery is fabulous - >>The volatility attests to the viciousness of the battle. When the bulls do finally turn tail and run the bears will chase them as far as Ramoth-Giliad and slay them till the blood runs waist deep.<<

Confirmed my decision to stay on the sidelines, despite yesterday's siren song.
