Some notes from the 5/11/00 MSDW analyst report
Analysts Mark Edelstone, Luois Gerhardy, John Cross
- Target price $100 (12 month)
- Communications accounted for 40% of 1999 revs (they believe) and may be 60% of this years.
- Network computing about 35% in Q1
- Storage units about 15% in Q1
- present state reminds MSDW of when LSI strung 15 consecutive quarter of during last cyclical expansion of 92-95.
- predicting 35% rev growth in 2000 and 33% in 2001
- Q1 gross margin was an 1.3% increas sequentially and 7.5% increase Y2Y
- LSI's CoreWare library of standard cells greatly enhances the products time to market, while maintaining the cost effectiveness of standard cells
- As Gresham Oregon fab ramps up, weakness in demand will affect margins.
- Looking for semiconductor peak by 2002.
