As long as literature is taught as comparative literature, presenting a range of different thoughts and methods of expressing thoughts, it cannot be classified as indoctrination. The moment one piece of literature is held up as The Truth, a line is crossed.

And no, I have no objection to the teaching of comparative religion, as long as no one point of view is treated as superior to or more intrinsically true than any other.
