<<it cannot be classified as indoctrination>>
You are very naive steven. Are you trying to say that our system of presenting World history would match identically with some objective person's say from the Ukrane. No way, it is offered in a way that boosts our confidence as Americans. If capitalism and Marxism were presented in a way that was completely neutral (I'm not sure that is possible) and the children were never influenced by the "American Way" until they were mature thinkers, then I would agree that the education system doesn't indoctrinate children. Mind you, I consider all of us as having gone through it and that it is a good thing. Indoctrinate: To instruct in a body of doctrine or principles.

LLR has proposed the idea of having a specific set of literature books as required reading for all American children. My objection to picking a "set" of literature books that all children in the USA must read is that the function of a literature curriculum by design is more of a process of learning to appreciate literature in general than to know and value specific texts above others. LRR's proposal is to have specific bodies of literature that form a foundation of thought or at least general knowledge. He considers some more important to have in the general knowledge base than others. My objection is the same objection you would have to forcing children to memorize the scriptures from the bible but considering Nietche, the Tao, or Confusism not important enough to be considered a Cultural Anchor; and so kept from LRR's list.
