hi meph, sold all my sun up 8, took the money and ran. i am doomed to trade. missed today's run altogether as i thot the numbers were stinky. how the market went up on that eci is beyond me. kept telling myself all day that it was a sucker's rally. oh well, the best mistakes you can make are the ones where you don't lose money, just don't make any extra. as for orcl, i can't quite get used to the p/e... i still think stuff might come back down again. trouble with trading the way i do is that you can end up missing the 'real' move up, but i have managed to get, since the 14th, from up 42% ytd to up 50% ytd. so, it's april and already been a good year. am watching my capital like a hawk. tight stops - got stopped out of glw at 147, and loookeee what happened. lol, don

Well, I believe International Data Corp defines "high end" as one which costs over $1 million. Now, I believe a fully configured IBM S80 24 way which outperforms the fully configured Sun E10000, costs considerably less than $1 million so would not be included in the count. So, if this is true, I hardly think this comparison is meaningful. On a similar note, I have seen other published comparisons favoring IBM which were equally misleading and meaningless. I have yet to see a direct comparison where a meaningful conclusion could be made. I will offer this however. The high end R6000 line was not selling PERIOD prior to the release of the new S80 series last Sept. Now they are selling EXTREMELY well. It also appears we will not see a Sun response at the high end until next year. I now have heard of 4 win backs from Sun. Draw your own conclusions. THE WATSONYOUTH
