I'd put it this way- Cultures who think genitals are funny, or comical- but also esteem them as relating to gender identification- not unlike holding the first baby boy up to show he HAS a penis- and so many latin American cultures DO esteem the "macho" the masculine- they also esteem the feminine - but it's more the feminine virtues as opposed to the feminine genitalia.

I think we ALL (even in this country) understand the fixation men have on their penises: being average size- comparing them with other men- boys are even more apt to measure and compare- and that is in OUR hung up (excuse the pun) society. Other societies are more open about the genitals- and it doesn't imply they are more abusive (imo).

Relatives who check out the goods of little kids to see how they've grown either worship, adore or fawn over penis development. Without passing judgment, is this not an accurate characterization? If not, again, how would you characterize it?
