Some people shouldn't own guns. Felons, mentally ill (needs some proof) and children. You of course realize we are talking about a freedom guaranteed, not granted by the Constitution. It comes with responsibilities, but it can't be arbitrarily taken away to make the world appear safer. By all means, study the origin of the 2nd Amendment and the thoughts of those who deemed it necessary. It's also interesting to research gun laws and consider whether any of them are constitutional let alone effective in their original intent. Hope I've kept the rhetoric down enough for reasonable discussion.
