Gary - Def Leppard, ABBA, reggae, and steel drums...you sure do have an eclectic taste in music. Do you happen to know who did the original of "Hot, Hot, Hot"? I have it on a Buster Poindexter CD that doesn't give any songwriting credits.

In a similar vein, a song I haven't been able to get out of my head recently is Lou Bega's "Mambo Number 5". It's funny how every couple years a Latin/Caribbean influenced tune seems to crossover into pop music in a huge way. And then becomes a classic. Harry Bellafonte, I guess, was one of the earliest with "The Banana Boat Song".

Finally, I'm sure you're right about the influence of demographics on music sales. Kids today seem to be buying music a lot younger than when I started, and I buy a lot more than my parents did when they were my age, so the market today is way bigger that 25 years ago.
