XAU getting hit hard again. As I said yesterday these one day teases have been traps for the unwary.

The fact that the EU does not seem to be even considering halting gold sales to help defend the Euro is further hurting sentiment towards the yellow.

In 1999 non farm productivity was growing faster than unit labor cost growth:

A look at the 2000 numbers, when available, should give us a clear picture of the current relationship...

There is no doubt that the ECI is rising fast:

But also note that previous parabolic type ascensions have led to a leveling off and even declining rate of ECI... So, my guess is that we may be seeing a peak at this time unless the long term trendline is broken to the upside... In that case we could be looking for an ultimate test in the 7.00% range... In that scenario we could see a heavier hand by the FED...
