Chic...<<<<Re: I can't believe what that kid's father had to go thru to get his child...

Chic and Ted. Obviously you haven't been through divorce court yet, as most fathers in this country have to go through worse. While I have no qualms about getting the child, as a divorced father, I can assure you that in this country a divorced father has very few rights; you almost never get your children back and have no rights' except the right to pay for everything. The only reason Reno made a case of it is Castro made a case of it. How many fathers in this country have the feds get our children back if the mother takes them to another country or state, or even if she denies visitation, its hard to get our rights back, and we ourselves have to pay for our own lawyers.. All they do is say shut up and pay child support. If a father misses child support they throw him in jail; but what if a mother misses child support; nothing. It gets a little disgusting seeing them fawn all over a foreigners rights while they completely ignore the rights of fathers who live here. If they don't care about my rights, why should I worry about some Cuban's rights. Let him fight the system just like I had to' and let him pay for it just like I had to. Then he will understand the mockery we have made of justice here, and the costs. By the time Miguel would have gotten Elian back, Elian would be in college, and Miguel would have been in poor house.
