That's risk and reward.The people who get in earlier take on more risk and when the stock moves up they benifit the most.If the results are not there they get hurt the most.
I bought my stock cheap and have sold half and got my money out and will ride the rest.
On the other hand there are companies with great projects whose stock has gone no where,because they didn't get the word out.If these companies find something of course the stock will move up,but in the in the mean time when they are trying to finance a company these companies tend to create allot of dilution which effects the companies current shareholders.
I guess it always comes down to where you are in the food chain.Also you must evaluate if the risk you are taking is appropriate for your portfolio.
