Do you 'believe' in anything...? What does 'believe' really mean...? Does it mean to "personally hold with the theory"? "Of course I don't believe in any natural law of sovereignty over one's own body." I do not hold with the theory that, "What is culturally agreed on is what you get- it's all an accident of birth." In your hypothetical fantasia... "you wouldn't get very far arguing with a lion that you had sovereignty...", there would be no 'reason' to 'argue' with a predator. It would waste time. Time better spent demonstrating my intention to remain sovereign. Mr. Lion has a couple of vulnerabilities that he's forgotten about, in his 'absolute' dominance. Besides, it is the Lioness that hunts in Lion society...and I am confident that I could communicate my sovereignity to a Lioness...no matter how hungry She might be. I don't think Groping-grandma is a predator, per se...she just lacks respect for others bodies, as is reinforced by her cultural mores. This 'holding' that you...'hold', "you get the "rights" over your own body that your society agrees to.", is reminding me of that sociology 101 display about 'the stockholm project'...or Whatever. 'Society' is notorious for being extremely 'anti-social' and anti-freedom and 'anti- liberty'...the weak-willed will ally themselves with 'perceived power'...at the expense of all other members who do not seek alliance with that 'power'. This is the cause of humans sacrificing other humans...and its the reason that all religions have a 'christ figure'. When Elian returns to Cuba, he will become a Christ in Castros Rome. Grandmagropefest has already laid the groundwork, erected the crucifix...with the help of the man I voted for...twice. I am not pleased.
