"Kids LOVE to take baths with their parents!!!!!!!"

I'm personally not convinced that it isn't the other way around...!

Parents often project their own fears/feelings/beliefs/desires, etc. onto their kids.

I don't "paint a broad stroke of condemnation"...and I'm a bit surprised by your emphatic response, but as far as 'bathing with children' goes...

"I find your broadbrush of condemnation says much more about you than us."

Can't you just be happy and secure with that...?

I Am.

Bathing with young children is actually recommended by some pediatricians, it reduces the risk of drowning, or slipping and breathing/ingesting water. My children loved the skin contact, and so did I.

So do dogs. I've trained retrievers that were scared of water by just jumping in. I guess it's the same with kids, mama's in so it's ok. She's having fun, go for it.

Mama's outside and I'm in, must be getting punished. That's my take, I don't have any kids.

My two cents worth on adults bathing with small children: Putting everything else aside, I see a physical safety issue, in that the bather (adult) has better and surer control over the bathee (small child) when both are together inside the tub. IMHO, safety for the bather and the bathee.

When Joey was about 3, he'd run, kick, and scream if I suggested bathing. But if I said "Joey, let's play boats", he'd be jumping up and down squealing "BOATS!! BOATS!!", and be in the tub (complete with accessories) in seconds. Of course the game would get involved, and as much water would end up outside the tub as in it, but at the end he'd be clean and happy. Of course I enjoyed it too, which I know is too kinky for words....

It's hard to explain to the childless how easy it is to tell what a toddler likes or doesn't like.
