If the browsers weren't free there would have been no internet revolution. Oh wait you probably have me on ignore

If there weren't Microsoft and Windows, only a tiny percentage of people will have computers. Tench, Elmer, and Paul are probably very poor since there is no Intel, let alone have time to chat on SI.

Netscape browser has always been a free product for educational institutes and in non-commercial users. Microsoft made their browser free even for commercial users eliminating any revenue making avenues(on the their browser product) for Netscape.
