<< If everyone who "nursed a child back to life" were to have a legal claim on it, what a mess we'd have! >>

Very true. But, me thinks that you do not understand it, when I "praise" the Miami Cuban Exile family for nursing Elian back to health. I've never, ever, never said that their good works gave them legal claim. The child belongs with to Castro, who has legal claim to him.

<< Juan did not leave his son- his son was taken from him. >>

A very, very good point. For those few days that Juan's ex-wife took Elian, Juan certainly didn't desert him. Buts..... How about those other minor FOUR LONG MONTHS that Juan sucked up the beers, in Cuba, a mere 90 miles away, while Elian was calling for his dad?

<< Juan called the relatives as soon as he heard what happened to make sure they would take care of Elian. >>

You mean that people "pass the buck" in Cuba also?

<< Unfortunately the Miamians had a different agenda. They wanted Juan to move here. They wanted the family united. >>

Oh those bad, bad Miami Cuban exiles. They wanted their family together. They wanted their family to live in a free country. Wow! Bad, bad, bad! I can see why you are against them! <g>
