<< We have no idea what happened to Juan in those four months. >>

If your son went thru a traumatic experience, and needed his mother very badly, as they all do, would you wait four months, "sucking down the brew", or would you get to his side at the earliest moment.

Instead, because Juan took so long, Elian bonded with his extend American family, and they with him. They were there for Elian, Juan was not.

<< As soon as the father arrived in America and the family was requested to turn over the child, they should have done so. >>

But, Juan was obviously being held "prisoner" at the Cuban enclave in Maryland. The relatives in Miami knew this. Castro was keeping a tight rope around Juan's neck.

This changed suddenly, AFTER Elian was taken forcefully and violently from the peaceful, loving Miami relatives. The movement of Elian and Juan to a U.S. military base surprised the hell out of me.

<< The only thing I'm against is the sort of baseless emotional one-sided hyperbole that you seem compelled to offer. >>

Does that mean that you're not sending me a card for Mother's day?
