the increasing frequency of multi-percent daily moves are one of the things I remember most from the crash in 1987. that single graph is enough to make anybody have trouble sleeping at night.

Volume was truly pitiful today..less than 1 billion on the NYSE, and less than 1.5 billion on the 'Dung. I agree we're at the outer limit of liquidity. Today's move in the financials was weak, looked like a last gasp to me (added some Amex poots also). The VIX continues to sag nicely.
I think we get bad productivity numbers on Thursday, bad employment #'s on Friday and 50 basis points in 2 weeks.
