Jim re <<Isn't there a free USB patch for '95 on MS's website?>>

Not that I could find. I looked for hours.

I upgraded to 98 form 95 so I could use my new USB scanner which I had got for X-mass.

Isn't there a free USB patch for '95 on MS's website?

Yes, but.....developers didn't develop for the '95 USB api or whatever is used in the '95 patch. Instead, they developed for the '98 USB API. This, unfortunately, is precisely the point in the findings of fact. MSFT uses advances in the OS to force developers to abandon software and move to newer version which comply with the new OS. If you will look at most hardware that utilize USB, they will not work with '95, even with the USB patch.

BTW, only certain versions of 95 can be patched.
