The gun in the famous "non-threatening" photo was about 2/3 of one second from the ability to spray 18 rounds per second out the muzzle. Why should anyone be concerned about that? Indeed, it was pointing at the house cleaner, fisherman wannabe, eager opportunist, child clutching, headline grabber who had the presence of mind to scuttle into that bedroom closet, posing for AP all the way. What a shame it would have been to lose a bright light like that even though his last moments would have been a monument of supercilious defiance of the Federal Government. Stupid is as stupid does. If our boy Donato wants to stand in front of a locomotive for his fifteen minutes of fame, then there is no helping the guy.

Well, among mainstream America, no one is, was or will be. When an INS SWAT team completes its mission without bloodshed (and reunites a son with his father who remains, you know, the child's lawful guardian and all), we call it a triumph of justice and restraint. But when some gun-loving racist wacko starts killing Asians and Jews,(or maybe blows up a government building and murders hundreds) then we get concerned that fascism is alive in America.
