mark - great to see that someone else heard of Bob Brady and the Concords - and that their fame spread as far as Philly. They were the "big dance" band in the Baltimore/Annapolis area - they played at our local teen club and high school a couple times. An outstanding R&B band with a great horn section. Of course, I was probably easier to impress when I was 16 than I am today.
A friend from B'mo once told me that they, or part of them, later emerged as members of Harold Melvin and the Bluenotes. I have no idea whether that's true, but it makes a good story.
BTW, do you ever miss those Philadelphia cheesesteaks? They just don't make them the same anywhere else I've found.
