At the high end of the market, Willamette should be much more attractive than the future AMD offering. I agree with your prognosis. It looks like AMD may be trying to create its own kind of standard (DDR) and they are not playing with a full deck of cards...just the NIH factor at work.<G>

AMD has little chance of gaining any ground.

The real question next year will be "can Intel regain some of the ground they have lost?"

Until the Willy shrink comes out next year, it is hard to imagine how Intel is going to regain any territory on AMD. The combination of T-Bird, Duron, and Dresden is going to be very unpalatable for Intel during the next twelve months.
