G&J - I don't understand why WEBM tanked so much after hours. Earnings were much better than expected. I listened to the conference call and didn't hear anything to set off any alarms. However, you are a much better analyst -- did you hear anything to account for the sell off? Has to be the conference call, but I'll be darned if I can figure it out.

B2B is for real and the giants will be WEBM, VERT, ARBA, CMRC.
I was thinking that ORCL flat fee setup offer may put a damper on these stocks. (I can't find the article where ORCL offered this to companies though)

Some news since Mar 1.
- GM/Ford/Daimler Chrysler announcement of a new B2B exchange for the auto industry.
- ORCL had worked with Ford on an Exchange and CMRC with GM on one.
- Sears (S) and Carrefour sign on Oracle to establish a B2B exchange for the retail industry.
- Johnson & Johnson (JNJ), GE Medical Systems (GE), Baxter International (BAX), Abbott Laboratories (ABT), and Medtronic (MDT) initiate an B2B exchange.
- Commerce One was the winner of the aerospace business exchange.

Late March: Prudential downgrades Ariba (ARBA), Commerce One (CMRC) and i2 tech (ITWO) from STRONG BUY to ACCUMULATE. Cites fears of deterioration in ability to command transaction-based revenue sharing. Also cites General Motors (GM) deal being renegotiated.

This issue of transaction based revenue sharing deteriorating is not discussed, but GM renegoation with CMRC bears watching for the sector.
Is the newly formed joint venture keeping this revenue stream?
Do the B2B vendors get a cut?
The guess is that the old economy JVs are getting the transactional slice and that the B2B companies are only getting software licensing fees and maintenance/service fees going forward.
