Ron & Mike,

What is glaringly, staggeringly, even stunningly obvious, from the swaggered talk of the pundits and authors assaulting John Q. Public every day is that opinion rules and in the short term, 99% is perception. Further, projection makes perception. Meeker says she's a buyer of MS, but in the 60's and low and behold her 'projection' hits the screen on the minds of the street mavens and MS hits the skids and dips to the 60's. Perception has been realized. The author of the 50 million Internet 1Q newbies needed a frame around which to 'set' his fact. He/she choose the frame and he/she choose all of the accents, style, quality, details and CRAFTSMANSHIP that went into it. Is it real or is it Memorex? Is it real or is it to sell copy? We all know that sooooooooooooooooo much of what passes for journalism is sensationalism, period. The belief is that without it you do not sell copy, attract readership, sell ad space or stay in business. The truth is that there is never too little room for quality and craftsmanship. The truth also is that there is plenty of room for sensationalism because of the seeming boundless appetite for shallow twisted fluff by tolerant ewe like masses that grace upon it.

Did you ever see the movie, Joe Versus The Volcano? Tom Hanks, years old. He has a rare and fatal illness, 'Braincloud', but in finding this out begins to finally 'see' life with a clarity he sensed existed but never actually experienced before the diagnosis opened the door. He had been hooked into his job, his views; the group dynamics of ho hum every day his whole life. Then...time is short...he had a new lease on life because he saw the folly in his old 'mindless' patterns. Lloyd Bridges is even in it. He is a multi millionaire and 'eccentric' because he is free, from the bindings that ensnare John Q. The telling line his daughter states is that most men are asleep. Sadly, very few ever make the effort to wake up before it's too late.

Anyway, the articles and spins are just the way the world goes. Attitudes, beliefs and opinions. Freedom is when you meat it out and arrive at your own conclusions based upon the meat you find. The DD helps you to discern the wheat from the chaff. Example, look how 'the street' trashed T today. Total BS. Rather than praise for going forward in the directions necessary to evolve the old T-Rex into a mammal that can survive in 'the next age', beat them up because- 'The phone company is going to go out of business you know. Soon all calls will be free on the Internet you know.'-rhetoric. Those who see the Herculean effort and the vision being defined and executed realize it should pay off hugely over time. The market says, 'But what are you doing for me today?' And this is a prevalent mentality.

The blind leading the blind. I admit I have been blind and have less then 20/20 vision or I would not be here. I also know that sight comes from following your internal BS indicator and it works best when primed with valid facts and sound logic foundationed upon impeccable ethics. By nature, the market revolves around the motivation for financial profit of the individual. Ethics and financial incentive are a bit like oil and water, great salad dressings are possible, but there is a natural tendency for them to be separate entities. Knowing this lends clarification to all you read.

ATHM will rise, when it is time to rise. It will be time when the numbers can no longer be contained and they are convincing. It will rise when management is firing on all cylinders and producing necessary results that meet stated goals and objectives that define the business plan.

And so it goes.

Thus ends the sermonette for the evening, chapter 3.999999, paragraph 20, verse 7, from the book of @home.

If you would all keep your wallets tightly closed when they pass the plate it would be appreciated.

'I wash my faith in dirty water
cause it gives my mind a little order.'
