(NYSE: BRW - news), a data and Internet communications company with a next-generation network, today announced that Broadwing's subsidiary, Cincinnati Bell, is deploying Lucent's AnyMedia© Access System to extend asymmetric digital subscriber line (ADSL) and other telephony services to business and residential customers throughout the Cincinnati area. The Cincinnati Bell ADSL product, branded ZoomTown, enables high-speed Internet connections to residents and businesses over the same copper telephone lines that handle voice and fax calls. The agreement continues a strategic relationship with Lucent and Cincinnati Bell that began more than 16 years ago. Cincinnati Bell and IXC Communications merged last November, becoming Broadwing.
