Ted did you really expect the next versions of Athlon to work on your current MB?

Beside you can still upgrade to a 900MHz or so for around $250 in couple of months.

I always buy a high end system and then don't mess with it later on. I expect to use my current 650 MHz Athlon for quite a while. I will need a new machine at work soon, hurry up DELL! I may have to break some unwritten company policy if DELL will not have an Athlon machine soon.

Ted if you still had it you could have still upgraded to a 1Ghz Athlon.. We had the same problems with dual voltage cpu's in the Pentium and K6 and K6-x days.

Remember what INTC did with the Pentium Line? 60 and 66Mhz worked in one socket and 75mhz and up used a different socket. It's always been a problem.
