Hi blake paterson; Re the 12-layer graphics cards... Sorry for implying that just because you copied that obviously junk post from Yahoo, you therefore must have put some belief in it. I do have to wonder about anyone who thinks that a DDR graphics card is going to take 12 layers when I have already shown on this thread (with good links) that the reference DDR DIMM design uses 2 fewer layers than the reference RIMM: ( #reply-13485509 ). That should be enough of a clue for most people that DDR isn't going to blow up the layer count. I am tempted to go and pick up an Nvidia card and post the engineering details on it. That would include the number of layers, the type of data bus termination, popcorn logic, etc. From that we could calculate the power consumption and compare to the RDRAM solution. The problem is that I don't need a hot game card, not until I upgrade to a DDR machine late this summer. But my buddy is talking about picking one up, and I'm sure he won't mind me cutting his up a little. -- Carl P.S. Best of luck on your trading. RMBS is about the perfect trading vehicle right now for daytraders, with lots of volume and big moves. That means that commissions are a small percentage of the profits, and the high volume makes it relatively easy to exit losing positions for relatively small losses. As I have posted before, one of the consequences of daytraders borrowing shares in order to go short intraday is that the people who borrow shares for long term shorts get squeezed. I really wouldn't be surprised if Rambus has another big short squeeze, at least partly due to this.
